The Texas Supreme Court issues a Preliminary Approval to Remove the ABA Monopoly in Law School access to the Texas Bar! Big News in the #MeritOverMonopoly Access to the Bar Effort After receiving many comments on the matter, including my PA Supreme Court Petition, the Texas Supreme Court Justices have decided to remove the ABA’s monopoly concerning which law school graduates can access the bar, and will likely issue further guidance in the coming months. Great progress for the third-largest bar in the country. Prior to the opening of the polls on November 5th for the 2024 presidential election, Franklin County, PA, election officials prepared the 73 polling locations with required ballots, materials, and signage for the start of voting. The county Elections Board trained poll officials in their mandatory duties and instructed them on preparing the required items and signs at each polling location to facilitate voting. While county officials prepared polling locations, each major party, Democrats and Republicans, sent poll watchers to the polls and election integrity representatives to the main county canvassing location in Chambersburg. The lack of access to justice in Pennsylvania plaguing low-income and minority residents continues to grow. Over the last 20 years, the Pennsylvania General Assembly led multiple legislative investigations, reports, and actions to combat the adverse effects of residents’ lack of access to the legal system. However, while legal aid programs exist to help those in poverty, most of their needs and those of the middle class are left unaddressed when it comes to legal support due to a lack of lawyers available to assist.
